WATERMARK (2014)

Kawaba village is located in the place where rich nature and tranquil fields and gardens surround.

Since I got a chance to visit there, a fog going across the mountains have been looked like a dragon rising into the sky to me.

I met a sculpture of a dragon in Hotaka Shrine founded in 1755 in Yubara district.Sculpture and statues of Buddha exposed to a very long time taught me that they are not only objects made by human’s hands but also forms of nature. I skimmed off the supernatant from water , which reflects such beautiful landscapes of the village.

豊富な自然とのどかな田園が広がる川場村

私が縁を授かりここを訪れた時から　

山々にわたる霧がまるで龍のように立ち昇って行くようにみえた

そこから1755年に創建された湯原地区の武尊神社の龍に出会った　

永い歳月に晒された彫刻や仏像は　人の手がつくりだしたものながら

それもまた自然の姿であるということを教えてくれた

そうした美しいものを映した水の上澄みをそっと何度も　

この村の美しい風景とあわせてすくいとり　うまれた
